In two separate corporate developments, Ayala Land Inc, and the Philippine National Reinsurance Company (PhilNaRe) have appointed new finance chiefs.
Ayala Land names Augusto Bengzon as Group CFO
Bengzon will also assume the position of chief information officer and chief compliance officer, while retaining the position of group treasurer.
Bengzon joined ALI in 2004 as its group treasurer and led various funding initiatives which were instrumental in the company’s strong and sustained growth. These capital raising transactions included successive equity top-up placements and debt capital market issues, which received awards for innovation and execution.
He had also implemented cash optimization, liquidity and receivables management programs across the group, while serving as treasurer or director in various subsidiary companies.
In November 2016, Bengzon was appointed as the deputy Group CFO.
Bengzon received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the Ateneo de Manila University, and was granted a full scholarship from the Asian Institute of Management where he received his Masters in Business Management degree.
PhilNare appoints new finance head
The Philippine National Reinsurance Company (PhilNaRe), formerly National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines (NRCP), had appointed on Thursday (April 20) Santino Santillano as the company’s head of finance.
He will replace Claudia Karen Fidelino who was appointed as officer-in-charge of the finance department last year in March. Fidelino will reassume her duties as head of management and technical accounting.
Prior to joining NRCP in January 2016 as head of internal audit, Santillano served as audit manager at KPMG in the Philippines for more than two years, as indicated in his LinkedIn profile.
He also did stints with Argus Group Holdings as AVP finance, and in KPMG in Bermuda as audit senior.
Santillano received his BS accountancy degree at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
PhilNare is the only domestic professional reinsurance company in the Philippines and is listed as NRCP on the Philippine Stock Exchange.
PhilNaRe’s mandate is to assist in the development of the Philippine insurance industry by providing reinsurance capacity and support to Philippine insurance companies as well as by contributing towards higher retention of business within the country.
