India-based healthtech company <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.Pratco.com" target="_blank">Practo</a> is considering a multi-million dollar investment in the Philippines as it expands its online doctor discovery platform in the South East Asian country.
Practo made the disclosure on Thursday, following the formal launching of its portal in the Philippines last August, which the company claims is the largest healthcare database in the country so far.
Practo recently raised $90 million from a group of investors including <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.tencent.com/" target="_blank">Tencent</a>, <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.googlecapital.com/" target="_blank">Google Capital</a> and <a style="color: #000080" href="https://www.sequoiacap.com/india" target="_blank">Sequoia India</a> as it looks to expand its presence. The firm has raised a total of $125 million till date.
Practo founder and CEO Shashank ND said, their goal now is &#8220;to list all the healthcare professionals in the Philippines.&#8221;
Although he did not give exact figures, Shashank said, Practo will make multi-million dollar investments here to cover more areas and ensure quality healthcare services to consumers.
At present, consumers in the Philippines will be able to search through over 11,000 doctors across all 17 cities in the greater Manila area, which is over 70 per cent of all doctors in the area.

Practo now aims to completely cover Cebu, Cavite and Batangas regions as well as expand product lines to cover more healthcare segments across wellness, fitness, medicine, preventive and curative healthcare. This will ensure that consumers have a single app they need for all their healthcare requirements.
In an interview with <a style="color: #000080" href="dealstreetasia.com">DEALSTREETASIA</a>, Practo&#8217;s AVP for marketing Varun Dubey said, the company&#8217;s investment in the Philippines will be on talent addition and technology.
Dubey explained growing its local talent is crucial to Practo since they play a major role in making sure that information about doctors in the database is reliable.

&#8220;Practo’s own team combs through every street and every zone to verify and list all the doctors on Practo for free,&#8221; Dubey said,
In simplifying healthcare for consumers, Practo is offering its two award-winning apps the Practo Search and Practo Ray.
Practo Search enables consumers to search through this verified database of healthcare professionals and find the one that’s right for them. Consumers can search using doctor’s names, specialisation, and symptoms.
Once they get results, consumers can click through the Practo Profile for each professional or establishment to read more details including years of experience, qualifications, affiliations and specializations as well as see clinic photos and get GPS co-ordinates of location for easy turn-by-turn navigation right from within the Practo App.

The Practo Ray, however, is a cloud-based practice management solution of choice for thousands of doctors and clinics. It simplifies and automates practice management so doctors can focus on what they do best, like treating and caring for their patients.
Practo Ray helps simplify scheduling, billing and inventory management for doctors. It also helps create digital health care records and prescriptions so consumers always have their healthcare history available to them right inside the app. This solution, however, is offered with an annual subscription fee.
