Singapore's Altara Ventures closes debut, early-stage SE Asia fund at $130m

Singapore-based venture capital firm Altara Ventures has fully closed its first, early-stage, Southeast Asian fund at $130 million.

The firm is led by five general partners (GPs), Koh Boon Hwee, Tan Chow Boon, Seow Kiat Wang, Gavin Teo, and Dave Ng. It has made seven investments till date, and deploys into Series A and Series B opportunities across fintech, consumer, enterprise software, logistics, healthcare, and education technology.

Some of its portfolio companies include digital bank Tonik from the Philippines, neo-bank StashFin from Singapore, Sampingan in Indonesia, Clevai in Vietnam, PolicyStreet in Malaysia, and Senseye and FreeAgent CRM in the US.
