<a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/AppsFlyer/">AppsFlyer</a>, a Tel Aviv-headquartered company that helps firms measure the impact of their ads on various platforms, has closed a Series D funding round of $210 million led by global growth equity firm <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/General-Atlantic/">General Atlantic</a>.
Also participating in the round are AppsFlyer’s existing investors Qumra Capital, Goldman Sachs Growth, (DTCP) Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners, Pitango Venture Capital, and Magma Venture Partners, the company said in a statement.
The latest round of funding brings the company’s total funding to $294 million, while also bringing its valuation to $1.6 billion, which puts it into the unicorn club.
The fresh capital will be used by AppsFlyer to enhance its open platform for third-party developers, benefiting data-driven marketers in mobile-first APAC, having opened an office in Jakarta this year to add to its six other existing Asia Pacific offices.
“This 2020 we predict that APAC will hold the world’s largest quantity of app-install ad spend at $30 billion. With massive volume and scale in this truly mobile-first region, marketers will be looking even harder into how they can better optimize their marketing budgets. There is also the imminent danger of fraud exposure for brands and users alike, where sadly, APAC leads in the world’s fastest fraud rate-growth at 60% higher than the global average,” said Ronen Mense, AppsFlyer’s APAC president and managing director.
“This funding will go into strengthening our open platform for partners and third-party developers, allowing them the flexibility to add their custom solutions on top of ours, so they can more confidently grow and protect their businesses in a highly competitive marketplace like APAC”.
AppsFlyer helps marketers grow their business and innovate with a suite of  measurement and analytics solutions. Its technology lets companies that use multiple platforms to serve ads track the return on investment on each platform. It does this by supplying a framework that companies can integrate into their own apps.
The company works with more than 12,000 customers such as Gojek, Agoda, Tokopedia, SEA Group (Shopee &amp; Garena), HBO, Tencent, and Nike, and is connected to an ecosystem of over 5,000 partners, including Facebook, Google, Apple Search Ads, Twitter, Salesforce, Adobe, and Oracle.
AppsFlyer claims to have seen 5X growth in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), exceeding $150 million in 2019. This follows a five-year growth in ARR from $ 1 million to $ 100 million.
It raised an $84 million Series C funding round in 2017 and has since grown its team by four times to 850 employees throughout 18 global offices.
“AppsFlyer’s scale enables it to provide accurate attribution data and ad- fraud protection, saving millions for advertisers. At the same time, the company has the end-user in mind every step of the way,” said General Atlantic co-president and global head of technology Anton Levy.
Following the investment, Levy, as well as General Atlantic managing director Alex Crisses, have joined AppsFlyer’s Board of Directors.
The deal with AppsFlyer expands General Atlantic’s Asia Pacific portfolio. Early last year, it invested $100 million in Indian pharmaceutical product-development company, Rubicon, and wrapped up 2019 by leading a $150 million investment in Indonesian education technology startup Ruangguru.
General Atlantic, which has more than 150 investment professionals spread globally across 14 cities, has $35 billion in assets under management as of June 30, 2019.

The round was backed by AppsFlyer’s existing investors Qumra Capital, Goldman Sachs Growth, Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners and Pitango Venture Capital.
