Asia Digest: Korea state fund shifts focus; Cargill unit in Vietnam; Umami funding

South Korea’s state pension fund, the National Pension Service, is mulling purchases of undervalued assets in emerging markets. Cargill, one of the world’s largest agribusiness companies, has opened its 11th animal feed mill in Vietnam and looks to further invest in the country. In another development, Tokyo-based Umami has raised over $466,000 in a seed round with Voyage Ventures, Fujita Kanko and CSAJ Startup as some of the participating investors.
