India-based Affle has acquired Singapore’s O2O platform Shoffr while Thailand’s RebateMango has bought out local rival DeeDee Cashback.

Microsoft-backed consumer intelligence company Affle has acquired Singapore based online-to-offline (O2O) platform Shoffr in a cash-and-stock deal, according to the Economic Times.
This is Affle’s third acquisition in the past 12 months after its two acquisitions last year.
The acquisition which includes the business, brand name, intellectual property rights, business relationships, assets and employees of Shoffr, is effective February and no financial terms are available.
Shoffr helps convert online engagements of consumers into in-store walk-ins and transactions. It displays offline retail stores’ inventories online via API and programmatic links and provides catalogue and order management services.
Shoffr would make Affle’s third acquisition in the past year, following the buyout of retargeting marketing tech platform startup Vizury in September for about $10 million, and Markt in March last year, to expand its O2O commerce business.
Thailand’s RebateMango acquires local rival DeeDee Cashback
Thailand-based online cashback and loyalty platform RebateMango has acquired local competitor DeeDee Cashback for an undisclosed sum, according to The Nation.
The deal would boost RebateMango&#8217;s cash-back and loyalty sites in Thailand, having launched in the country less than a year ago.
According to RebateMango, the deal will bring its total user base to over 1 million across its three markets – Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. It will also allow the company to cover almost 10 per cent of active e-commerce shoppers in Thailand.
RebateMango launched in Thailand less than a year ago, while DeeDee Cashback started in 2015 and was the first cashback site in the country.
E-commerce in Thailand is expected to be worth $5.3 billion by 2021 with e-commerce shoppers representing 25 per cent of the total population.
