Noida-based astrology and spiritual-tech platform AstroTalk has entered India’s unicorn club after completing an employee stock option (ESOP) buyback that valued the company at $1 billion, per media reports.
The buyback involved more than 100 employees and was funded through the company’s internal profits, giving eligible employees an opportunity to realise some liquidity while continuing to hold a stake in the business, Entrackr reported.
AstroTalk did not disclose the total value of the buyback.
Founded in 2017 by Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain, AstroTalk had raised about $14 million in a funding round led by Elev8 Venture Partners in June 2024. Earlier that year, the company had raised $20 million in a Series A round led by Left Lane Capital in February.
AstroTalk operates a marketplace connecting users with astrologers for services such as horoscope readings, birth-chart analysis, tarot, numerology, and Vastu consultations. The company has since expanded into spiritual products and e-commerce.
The e-commerce vertical generated more than Rs 140 crore in revenue in 2025 and processed 1.6 million orders, according to the company. It currently offers more than 300 SKUs spanning rudrakshas, gemstones, bracelets, idols, and ritual essentials.
AstroTalk has set a target of Rs 400-500 crore in annual recurring revenue by FY27 for its e-commerce business. The company also plans to introduce more than 500 new products by FY27, according to the company.
