Australian startup Different has raised a seed round while the Aura Venture Fund has invested in an investment administration platform.
<h3>Different raises $987k seed round</h3>
Property startup <a href="http://different.com.au" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Different</a> has raised an A$1.3 million ($987,844) seed round from Australian and Silicon Valley investors. Its seed round was led by <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/Airtree-Ventures" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Airtree Ventures</a> and a number of private Silicon Valley investors from AngelList.
Its advisory board now includes AirTree’s Craig Blair and 500 Startups partner, Parker Thomson. Investment proceeds will be used to expand its team and establish its customer service department. Its founders are husband-wife team Mina Radhakrishnan and Ruwin Perera
Different uses a technology platform to facilitate and automate rent payment, organising tenants, maintenance requests, and house inspections for landlords who are privately renting for A$100 per month. It also provides a rental guarantee for property owners, fronting the bill if tenants are five days late with their payments.
<h3>Aura Venture Fund invest $2.27m in IPS</h3>
<a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/Aura-Venture-Fund" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Aura Venture Fund</a> has led a syndicate investing A$3 million ($2.27 million into a financial technology business, Integrated Portfolio Solutions (IPS), a cloud-based investment administration platform with current funds under administration (FUA) of over $2 billion.
IPS deals directly with all third parties (banks, fund managers, stockbrokers, etc.) on the client’s behalf and enables advisors and investors to minimize the cost burden of portfolio administration, comprehensive reporting and client &amp; practice management.
According to a media release, the firm is profitable and looks to scale its operations. The investment from Aura will see it expand further in Asian markets.
