Australian startup ventures Thr1ve, Bookwell and Jayride have closed funding rounds.
<h3>Thr1ve closes $7.84m investment from Blue Sky VC</h3>
<a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/Blue-Sky-Venture-Capital" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Blue Sky Venture Capital</a>, a division of listed fund manager Blue Sky Alternative Investments,  has led an A$10 million ($7.84 million) investment in <a href="https://thr1ve.me/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Thr1ve</a>, a chain of 10 company-owned gluten-free restaurants along Australia&#8217;s eastern seaboard.
Blue Sky Venture Capital converted debt underpinning an earlier investment into equity for this A$10 million round. It also created a special purpose vehicle for this transaction.
The investment will finance the development of an e-commerce platform that links it with its ready meals delivery service launching next month with Deliveroo, as well as an exercise and diet program designed by founder and chief executive Josh Sparks.
Blue Sky Venture Capital previously backed the company in an A$2.5 million round it led in 2015, following a seed investment from fellow fashion executive Ross Lane and had previously served as Thr1ve&#8217;s chairman.

<h3>Bookwell closes $2m investment</h3>

Lifestyle services Bookwell, an online beauty and wellness booking platform, has closed an A$2.6 million ($~2 million) investment, led by Adam Schwab, the co-founder and CEO of Lux Group.
The service will initially be available in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, offering beauty and wellness businesses a digital platform to take customer bookings.
The venture&#8217;s business model operates by charging a commission for treatments booked through the site. The company reports that it had 750 providers across Australia listed while it was in beta mode and intends to grow this by more than five times over the coming years.
This will see the firm rely heavily on its sales force to drive vendor acquisition and expansion of its network.
<h3>Jayride raises $6.27m</h3>
Sydney-based airport transport startup Jayride has raised A$8 million ($6.27 million) in growth capital to drive expansion into the US and European market.
This latest investment followed the company raising A$1.5 million( $1.17 million) in January 2017 in a round led by <a href="http://followtheseed.vc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Follow[the]Seed</a>. <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/Artesian-Capital/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Artesian Capital</a>, as well as crowdfunding platform <a href="https://www.venturecrowd.com.au/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">VentureCrowd</a> and <a href="https://www.rimon.com.au/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rimon Group </a>also joined the round.
The venture aggregates various transportation options (ride-sharing services, taxis and rental cars) onto a single platform.
Since launching in 2012, Jayride has raised A$13 million in aggregate. In 2015, it expanded to the US market, which currently accounts for more than 50 per cent of its business. It services 250 airports and has entered into partnerships with international travel brands including Rome2Rio, Amadeus, Flight Centre, Skyscanner and Expedia.
