Listed Australian private equity firm Blue Sky Investments Limited said it has successfully completed its placement that raised approximately A$100 million ($78 million), according to a disclosure.
The company earlier announced a capital raising of A$125 million ($98 million) &#8211; A$100 million in fully underwritten institutional placement and A$25 million ($20 million) in non-underwritten share purchase plan (SPP).
&#8220;The additional SPP of up to A$25 million is open to eligible Australian and New Zealand shareholders who held ordinary shares at 7 pm on Friday, March 2,&#8221; the company said.
The A$100 million placement closed on Tuesday, March 6 and the share purchase plan closes on March 28.
The A$11.50 share offer is a 5.3 per cent discount to the last trading price of A$12.15 on Friday and a 14.1 per cent discount to the previous 30 days of A$13.38).
Blue Sky said full details of the SPP will be sent to eligible shareholders in the coming days.
The proceeds of the Placement and SPP will be applied principally to provide additional capital for ongoing co-investment alongside institutional investors in funds and mandates managed by the company, Blue Sky said.
The funds will also provide balance sheet support for new funds, investment platforms and/or joint ventures, the Brisbane-based funds manager said.
Founded in 2006, Blue Sky specialises in managing investments across the four major alternative asset classes &#8211; private equity, private real estate, real assets and hedge funds.
The fund manager has more than A$3.9 billion ($3 billion) in fee-earning assets under management and an 11-year investment track record deliver returns to investors of 15 per cent annually.
