Private equity firm <a href="http://www.baincapitalprivateequity.com/" target="_blank">Bain Capital </a>plans to sell Singapore-based electronic connectors maker <a href="http://www.fci.com/" target="_blank">FCI Asia Pte Ltd</a>  to US-headquartered industry peer <a href="https://www.amphenol.com/" target="_blank">Amphenol</a> for $1.28 billion.
FCI is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of electrical and electronic interconnect systems for a wide range of consumer and industrial applications including automotive, transportation systems, electric power distribution, telecommunications, personal computers, mobile phones, micro connections and RFID antennas. The Singapore headquartered company, that employs about 7,400 people worldwide, is expected to have 2015 sales and an adjusted EBITDA margin of approximately $600 million and 20%, respectively.

In addition, we are excited about the possibilities created by the combination of Amphenol’s strong operating discipline and FCI’s advanced technologies and look forward to working together with FCI’s experienced management team to drive superior operating performance in the future. Consistent with our acquisition strategy and assuming a continuation of current economic conditions, we expect the FCI acquisition to be accretive to earnings per share in the first year post acquisition, excluding acquisition related costs,&#8221; he added
Amphenol expects to finance the acquisition through a combination of cash and debt and expects the transaction to close by the end of 2015.
Amphenol Corporation is one of the world’s largest designers, manufacturers and marketers of electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, interconnect systems, antennas, sensors and sensor-based products and coaxial and high-speed specialty cable. Its recent deals involve a $450 million acquisition of Cap-Con Automotive Technologies Ltd.’s Casco Automotive Group.
