Venture capital firm B Capital and startup incubator Antler have partnered to leverage each other’s networks, while Rocket Internet-backed coffee chain Flash Coffee is expanding to Thailand.

B Capital, Antler announce collaboration

Singapore- and US-headquartered investor B Capital Group has formed a partnership with startup incubator Antler in order to strengthen the wider startup community, according to an announcement.

As part of the partnership, B Capital and Antler will jointly launch a number of events aimed at supporting entrepreneurs. The events will focus on enterprise application software across multiple industries around the world.

“Antler, with its unparalleled deal flow of early-stage companies, is a great partner for B Capital. Given our global investment strategy, the sharing of talent between portfolio companies, business development resources and investment data made it a natural partnership,” said B Capital co-founder Raj Ganguly.

Antler is a Singapore-based venture builder and early-stage venture capital firm. In January, the firm announced it has raised $50 million for its funds across Amsterdam, London, New York, Stockholm, Sydney, Nairobi and Singapore.

Meanwhile, B Capital is understood to have raised $600 million for its second fund and is now seeking to hit its hard cap of $750 million.

Flash Coffee expands to Thailand

Rocket Internet-backed Flash Coffee is opening its doors for customers in Bangkok, becoming the first Indonesian coffee chain to expand regionally.

The company has chosen to expand overseas a few months after launching its first store in Indonesia in January. Following its soft launch in Bangkok, it plans to open outlets in other locations in the country as well as expand to other Southeast Asian capital cities.

The startup claims to offer an award-winning coffee menu curated by World Latte Art Champion Arnon Thitiprasert and Indonesian Latte Art Champion Robby Firlian at affordable prices. Its signature drinks include avocado latte, Nutella latte and lychee espresso soda.
