Thailand&#8217;s BuilderSmart (BSM), a producer and distributor of indoor building and decorative products, is to set up D&amp;W (Asia) Limited, a joint-venture company with Myanmar-based Home Company, this year.
The newly-established company will distribute and sell “Fletcher” doors and windows for high buildings. It has a registered capital of 10 million baht ($304,878). BSM holds 51% stake and Home holds the rest 49%.
Sanchai Nueangsit, managing director of BSM, said that it has already brought Fletcher to market in Myanmar an year ago. The joint venture with Home will help increase the distribution channels and make “Fletcher” brand more well-known thanks to Home’s strong customer base.
“It is a good opportunity for us because there are a lot of tall buildings being constructed in Myanmar. Currently, there are at least 40 projects in three main cities: Yangon, Nay Pyi Daw and Mandalay,” he said.
In the future, it company  is targetting Cambodia as its next potential market after the inauguration of ASEAN Economic Community next year.
BSM targets the revenue of 600 million baht this year and expects to see the growth of 30% in 2015 following the market expansion.
