BYT Capital launches $20m fund
BYT Capital, an India-focused deeptech venture capital firm, on Thursday announced the launch of its maiden fund targeting a corpus of nearly $20 million (Rs 180 crore).
The Category-II AIF fund is backed by a network of India-aligned HNIs and family offices. With more than half the corpus already subscribed, the fund is expected to reach its final close by Q3 2026, the firm said in a statement.
The fund will deploy capital across 18-20 deeptech startups, with Rs 3-6 crore initial cheques and 55% of the corpus reserved for follow-on rounds, the statement added. In its first year, the fund has already committed investments across sectors, including space technology, life sciences, robotics, and clean energy.
The fund will focus on startups translating lab-stage discoveries into scalable products with global market pull. BYT Capital will partner early with scientific founders building in areas such as space, life sciences, energy, frontier AI, and next-generation engineering systems—technologies that require patient capital, technical diligence, and hands-on incubation.
GVFL backs Soleos Solar
Renewable energy company Soleos Solar on Thursday said that it has raised $12 million in a funding round led by GVFL.
While GVFL invested $2.5 million in the company, the round also saw participation from financial services conglomerate Tipsons Group, Navin Dalmia, and select family offices, along with commitments from other existing investors, per media reports.
The newly raised capital will be used to expand its development pipeline fund construction across key geographies. The capital will also help strengthen investor governance systems, scale group-captive and consumer-led energy models, and build integrated solar and storage capability.
Founded in 2017 by Bhavesh Rathod, Soleos Solar is an EPC company offering a range of services that include engineering, procurement and construction solutions for commercial, industrial and ground-mounted solar projects.
