Thai energy drink manufacturer <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Carabao+Group">Carabao Group</a> has teamed up with Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed chemical engineering firm <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Showa+Denko+">Showa Denko</a> to form a joint venture to produce aluminum cans in Thailand.
Both companies will invest 700 million baht ($21 million) in the JV firm, named Asia Pacific Can Company, according to Japanese media&#8217;s reports.
The production plant is located in Chachengsao province and set to commence the operation in October next year.
The company cited that the production capacity from the new plant would mainly be used for Carabao&#8217;s beverages that are exported internationally. The Thai energy drink&#8217;s main destinations are in Southeast Asia, China and the United Kingdom.
Carabao Group was founded by Yuenyong Opakul, or widely known as Aed Carabao, and Sathien Setthasit in 2002. It recently announced that it has invested 3 billion baht in building a liquor production plant in Chainat province.
It reported 10.1 billion baht ($303 million) in revenue and 1.5 billion baht ($45 million) in net profit last year.
