Carlyle, GIC and co-investors acquire Veritas for $8b in cash

The Carlyle Group, along with a group of co-investors that includes Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC, will acquire Veritas, an information management systems provider, from Symantec Corp for $8 billion in cash, the private equity firm said Tuesday.
