Indian e-commerce startup <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=GlowRoad" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">GlowRoad</a> on Tuesday announced that it has raised $10 million in a Series B round of funding led by Chinese investment firm <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=CDH Investments" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CDH Investments</a>.
The round also saw participation from existing investor <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Accel Partners" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Accel Partners</a> and two other international and Asian funds, 36kr <a href="https://36kr.com/p/5186315">reported</a>. The Bengaluru-headquartered startup plans to use the funding proceeds to grow its business and strengthen its supply chain.
Founded in 2017, GlowRoad enables suppliers (manufacturers or wholesalers) to sell their products to end customers through resellers. The company claims to currently have more than 100,000 resellers, 20,000 suppliers and 300,000 buyers on its platform, according to information available on its website.
GlowRoad last raised $2 million in a Series A round of financing from Accel Partners in September 2017, a few months after its launch. The startup competes with the likes of Sequoia Capital-backed Meesho, Kalaari-backed Shop101, and Helion-backed Wooplr.
In November last year, Meesho raised $50 million in Series C funding from new investors including Shunwei Capital, DST Partners and RPS Ventures. Existing investors including Sequoia, SAIF Partners, Venture Highway and Y Combinator also participated in the round. Till date, Meesho has raised nearly $65 million across three funding rounds.
In December, Mumbai-based Shop101 also announced raising $11 million from Kalaari Capital and Unilever Ventures. The Series B round was joined by existing investors including Stellaris Venture Partners, Vy Capital and angel investor and Livespace founder Ramakant Sharma.
