CEC Data leads $60m series C in Chinese doctor app Medlinker

Medlinker, a Chinese mobile community app for doctors, has raised RMB400 million ($60 million) in series C round led by China Electronics Corporation Data (CEC Data), a state-controlled fund focusing on big data-related projects.

According to the company’s announcement, China Renaissance and its existing investors including Sequoia Capital China and Tencent Holdings also joined this round.

Medlinker, founded in 2014, is a physician social service platform for certified doctors to share knowledge and insights as well as exchange high quality content. It has connected over 430,000 doctors on the platform, it claimed.

Coming on board as a strategic investor, CEC Data will partner with Medlinker to expand its ecosystem and set up trail health maintenance organisation projects to connect patients with healthcare insurance and physicians.

Prior to this round, it raised millions of dollars in series A round from Sequoia Capital China, Ce Yuan Ventures and PreAngel in 2015. Later on in the same year, it closed a $40 million series B round from Tencent Holdings and Yunfeng Capital.
