China Deal Monitor: DCP Capital invests in Far East Horizon and more updates

Asia-focused Chinese private equity firm DCP Capital has announced an undisclosed investment in Hong Kong-listed financial leasing company Far East Horizon, according to a press release. 

DCP has been a long term strategic investor in Far East Horizon since 2009.

The fresh investment is expected to enable Far East Horizon to expand its presence in hospital operations and the education business as it moves towards the next phase of growth, per the statement.

Far East Horizon is focused on select sectors with sustainable growth potential and steady cash flows such as healthcare, construction, education, consumption, industrial machinery, transportation and public utilities. Apart from financial leasing, Far East Horizon has also built up one of the largest hospital groups in China.

DCP Capital counts among its portfolio notable companies such as Ping An Insurance, Mengniu Dairy, CICC, Haier Electronics, and Modern Dairy, to name a few.

DealStreetAsia has also put together a table listing out all prominent venture capital transactions in the Greater China region on November 21, 2019.

In the largest deal on the table, Ping An Capital together with Chinese global investment firm. Primavera Capital Group and Junqian Management, acquired a 51 per cent stake in Junlebao from Hong Kong-listed China Mengniu Dairy for 4 billion yuan.
