Kelvin Yap has been promoted to be the Managing Director at global private markets asset manager <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/57783-57783/">HarbourVest Partners</a>, one among a long list of promotions for 2016 that the firm announced on Monday.
The two others promoted to be Managing Director are Ryan Gunther and Senia Rapisarda along with 13 new Principals and Senior Vice Presidents.
Kelvin Yap who will be based in Hong Kong focuses on <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/pe-investors-concern-about-economic-slowdown-in-vietnam-report-51542/" target="_blank">growth equity</a> and buyout co-investments in Asia Pacific. He was transferred from London to HarbourVest’s Hong Kong team in 2009.
Yap joined the firm in 2006 from Deloitte in London, where he managed merger and acquisition (including demergers and IPOs) due diligence for both private and public transactions.

We’re proud to have that experience and focus across all business lines and geographies,” said HarbourVest Managing Director Peter Wilson.
HarbourVest is an independent, global private markets investment specialist with more than $40 billion in assets under management. The firm’s global platform offers clients investment opportunities through primary fund investments, secondary investments, and direct co-investments in co-mingled funds or separately managed accounts.
The firm has more than 400 employees, including more than 100 investment professionals across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
