<a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/China-Minsheng-Investment-Group/">China Minsheng Financial</a>, a subsidiary of CMI Financial Holding Company, has led a $100-million Series E funding round in London-based social trading and investment platform eToro.
The round was joined by SBI Group, Korea Investment Partners, World Wide Invest and other investors, according to an eToro statement.
Using eToro&#8217;s platform, users can connect with nine million investors and traders, and benefit from their expertise in investing in traditional asset classes like stocks and commodities to cryptocurrencies. The company claims to have received over $1 billion in customer deposits last year and over one million new registrations in Q4 alone.
eToro said the latest funding round will support its expansion into new markets as well as its continued research and development of blockchain technology and the digitization of assets.
“It will also help us to enter new markets, enabling us to bring our social approach to investing to more people around the world, and providing more people with safe and secure access to the markets,” said eToro founder and CEO Yoni Assia.
Including the Series E round, eToro has raised total capital of $162 million to date.
The social trading and investment platform joined the London Stock Exchange&#8217;s ELITE programme in 2015 and completed its capital raising with the support of ELITE Club Deal, London Stock Exchange Group&#8217;s private placement platform.
China Minsheng Financial, an investment holding company, provides asset management services primarily in Hong Kong and Mainland China. The company is based in Wanchai, Hong Kong.

eToro said the latest funding will support its expansion into new markets and continued R&D of blockchain technology and digitization of assets.
