China&#8217;s JD Finance has invested in P2P lending platform Meili Jinrong while Sequoia Capital China bets on SaaS firm Joyowo.com.
<h3>JD.com invests in P2P lending site Meili Jinrong</h3>
China-based e-commerce firm JD.com has invested an undisclosed amount into Meili Jinrong, a local peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform, through its finance arm JD Finance according to a <a href="https://www.chinamoneynetwork.com/2016/04/06/jd-finance-invests-in-p2p-lender-meili-jinrong">report</a>.
The two companies intend to work together to better serve the second hand car loan market, and expand into other areas within personal finance.
JD Finance will also provide Meili Jinrong with its knowledge and skill in risk control and credit checking.
Meili Jinrong&#8217;s founder Liu Yannan had earlier established Yooli.com, another Chinese P2P company, and left Yooli.com in September 2015.
The startup was reported to have raised $65 million in a <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.chinamoneynetwork.com/2015/11/05/bertelsmann-asia-leads-65m-series-a-round-in-chinese-p2p-start-up">Series A round last November</a> led by Bertelsmann Asia Investments and saw participation by Banyan Capital and Morningside Ventures.
<h3>Sequoia Capital China invests $15 million into Joyowo.com</h3>

Chinese human resource Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://Joyowo.com" target="_blank">Joyowo.com</a> has <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.joyowo.com/guanyujoyo/526580.html">announced</a> that it has raised $15 million in a Series B round from a number of investors including <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/Sequoia-Capital-China/" target="_blank">Sequoia Capital China</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.cefund.com/about.html" target="_blank">Tsing Ventures</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.meridiancapital.com.cn/en/index.aspx" target="_blank">Meridian Capital China</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.greenwoodsinvest.com/">Greenwoods Investment</a>.
Joyowo.com had earlier raised a Series A round from Sequoia Capital China and Meridian Capital China that remains undisclosed.
Founded in April 2014, the company has a headcount of 1,000 employees, claims Joyowo.com. The firm also added that it has coverage of more than 400 cities in China.
