<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=WM+Motor">WM Motor</a>, an emerging Chinese electric vehicle maker, has made an undisclosed investment in China’s bike-sharing startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Hellobike">Hellobike</a>, according to a China Money Network <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.chinamoneynetwork.com/2017/07/03/hellobike-raises-series-b-round-from-ev-start-up-wm-motor">report</a>.</article>

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">WM Motor invests in Chinese bike sharing startup</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=WM+Motor">WM Motor</a>, an emerging Chinese electric vehicle maker, has made an undisclosed investment in China’s bike-sharing startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Hellobike">Hellobike</a>, according to a China Money Network <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.chinamoneynetwork.com/2017/07/03/hellobike-raises-series-b-round-from-ev-start-up-wm-motor">report</a>.
In April, the startup secured hundreds of millions of RMB in a Series B financing round led by Shanghai-based venture capital firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Chengwei+Capital">Chengwei Capital</a> and joined by existing investor <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=GGV+Capital">GGV Capital</a>.
Hellobike, founded last September, currently offers its services in 90 second- and third-tier cities including Suzhou, Ningbo and Xiamen.
Its focus is different from its large competitors like Shanghai-based Mobike and Beijing-based Ofo that plans to expand its operations to up to 200 cities across the world.
WM Motor was founded in May 2015 by Freeman Shen, who previously served as co-founder and CEO of Pateo Group, a smart car technology firm, and Group Vice President of Zhejiang Geely Holding, the largest China-based auto-maker and the parent company of Volvo Car Corporation globally.
Shen earlier told the Chinese media that WM Motor had raised $1 billion in funding without citing investors.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">JD.com-backed Qicheng invests in Qiandama</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Qicheng+Venture+Capital">Qicheng Venture Capital</a>, backed by Chinese e-commerce giant <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=jd.com">JD.com</a>, has invested an undisclosed amount in brick-and-mortar fresh produce chain store operator Qiandama, Chinese media reported citing sources.
A China Money Network <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.chinamoneynetwork.com/2017/07/03/jd-com-backed-fund-invests-in-fresh-produce-chain-store-qiandama">report</a> said that JD.com’s strategic investment aims to combine online and offline retail services to give the best shopping experience to Chinese consumers.
JD.com had earlier invested RMB4.3 billion in fresh produce supermarket franchise Yonghui Superstores and boosted partnership with the retail giant Wal-Mart for merging online and offline services.
Apart from making strategic investment to expand its offline retail channels, JD.com has also invested in opening its own offline retail stores.
It recently launched JD Home, an offline electronics store, and aims to open 5,000 maternity and baby-product stores within three years.
