China-based angel investment fund <a style="color: #333399;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Angel+Plus" target="_blank">Angel Plus</a> has launched a $100 million fund to be invested exclusively in US tech startups.
Dubbed &#8220;Angel Plus USD&#8221;, the new vehicle is the first US currency fund launched by Angel Plus, a Chinese angel investment fund co-established by the founder of education giant <a style="color: #333399;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=New+Oriental++Education" target="_blank">New Oriental Education</a>, the China Money Network reported.
Angel Plus USD is tasked to back up US startups engaged in artificial intelligence, big data, financial technology, internet security, and smart hardware sectors, most likely within Silicon Valley, Boston, and elsewhere in the US.
Chinese media reports said local internet companies attracted $20.3 billion in venture funding in 2015, surpassing for the first time its US counterpart which collected $16.3 billion.
With China&#8217;s one billion smartphone users, it is now the largest mobile internet market in the world.
