China's once-hot consumer sector endures coldest fundraising winter in 2023

After China lifted its draconian zero-COVID policy curbs in December 2022, shoppers thronged the streets again in early March 2023 with retail sales of consumer goods hitting a 10.6% year-on-year growth rate, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
