Clouddesk raises $417k from NRF and Incuvest

CloudDesk Pte Ltd (CloudDesk) has closed a S$589,000 ($417,730) round of funding from Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF), via its Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS) and IncuVest, a Singapore-based investment firm and incubator.

CloudDesk is a provider of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and mobile computing solutions for educational institutions, government agencies and corporations with customers across the fragmented geographical markets of Southeast Asia.

In essence, it provides a solution for securely delivering a virtual workspace, while concurrently providing a seamless end-user experience with real-time interaction with minimal lag.

Commenting on the investment, CJ Ong, CEO of CloudDesk, said, “This is a very important round of funding for us as it provides the runway to continue to enhance our proprietary technology, further innovate in this space as well continue our regional expansion plans. The VDI market a rapidly growing market and we believe this leaves a lot of room for opportunity through innovation.”

Ong added, “Additionally, many companies in the region are just now starting to explore the many advantages provided by VDI and being located here provides us with the ability to really understand the challenges faced by companies and institutions in the local market and develop our products and services accordingly.”
