<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.CVC.com" target="_blank">CVC Capital Partners</a>, via the completion of three exits in December 2014, brought home total capital return of $2 billion to its investors last year.
The three notable exits, some full and some partial, were in Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines and returned approximately $1 billion in capital to investors in the CVC Asia fund, according to a company announcement. 
In the middle of December, CVC completed the partial exit from <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.technoproholdings.com/en/" target="_blank">TechnoPro Holdings Inc </a>through the initial public offering of the company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The IPO was the largest listing in the Japanese market last year, raising some Yen 53 billion ($450 million).
CVC acquired TechnoPro in April 2012, a leading Japanese engineering staffing business with about 10,000 full time engineers, from a larger staffing conglomerate.
Upon the acquisition, CVC and the management implemented a variety of initiatives to improve recruitment and retention of engineers and improve operating efficiencies. Operating profit for TechnoPro has grown from Yen four billion to Yen seven billion this year, according to the statement.
In the second exit in December, CVC agreed to the <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/cathay-life-rcbc-forge-381-7m-deal/" target="_blank">sale of its minority stake in Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) to Cathay Financial Insurance Co Ltd</a>. CVC has had that stake since September 2011, where after acquiring it, the private equity firm worked with its management to expand the bank’s consumer and retail segments while also improving its capital position.
Founded in 1960, RCBC is one of the largest universal banks in the Philippines, in terms of assets and deposits and offers a range of commercial, retail and corporate banking products and services with total consolidated assets of P422 billion as at end-2013.
Then on December 19, CVC completed a full exit from <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.nienmade.com/" target="_blank">Nien Made</a> through a sale to 37 investors in a pre-IPO share sale. CVC, along with the founding families of Nien Made, privatised the Taiwan-listed company in a joint buyout in October 2007.
Following the investment, CVC, the founding families and senior management worked closely to improve the company’s product mix, strengthen its distribution channels and lower manufacturing costs.
Nien Made was founded in 1974, and is one of the top global branded shutters manufacturers. The company earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation has increased by 60 per cent in the past four years.
Other exits CVC Asia completed earlier in the year included <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.linknet.co.id" target="_blank">PT LinkNet</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.jtyyjt.com/" target="_blank">Jintian Pharmaceuticals</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.spi-global.com/" target="_blank">SPi Global</a>, Mantra and Matahari. These exits too cumulatively returned $1 billion to investors.
CVC has now a leading position in the region and is well-recognised by the investment community. The firm took less than a year to successfully raise $3.5 billion for its fourth Asia Pacific fund, CVC Capital Partners Asia Pacific IV LP.
To date, it has raised over $10 billion in the Asia region and completed over 49 investments. CVC currently manages funds on behalf of over 300 investors from North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East who have entrusted their capital to CVC for over 10 years.
The private equity and investment advisory firm has secured commitments of over $60 billion in funds from a diverse investor base, completing more than 300 deals in various industries and countries, with an aggregate transaction value of over $120 billion.
