<article>Singapore-based venture capital(VC) firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="dealstreetasia.com/tag/jungle-ventures" target="_blank">Jungle Ventures</a> has recruited <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://sg.linkedin.com/in/gowdey" target="_blank">David Gowdey</a>, formerly with <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.tpggrowth.com" target="_blank">TPG Growth</a>, as its Singapore-based managing partner.</article>

Singapore-based venture capital(VC) firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="dealstreetasia.com/tag/jungle-ventures" target="_blank">Jungle Ventures</a> has recruited <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://sg.linkedin.com/in/gowdey" target="_blank">David Gowdey</a>, formerly with <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.tpggrowth.com" target="_blank">TPG Growth</a>, as its Singapore-based managing partner.
Gowdey will focus on investments in the consumer Internet sector and facilitate Series A &amp; Series B deals.
With this appointment, Jungle Ventures will now have a team of four managing partners, led by co-founders <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/anurag-srivastava" target="_blank">Anurag Srivastava</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/amit-anand" target="_blank">Amit Anand</a>, as well as <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/jayesh-parekh" target="_blank">Jayesh Parekh</a>, co-founder of Sony Entertainment Television India, who joined Jungle Ventures in 2013.
This hire is aligned with Jungle’s ethos of facilitating access to deep expertise, for their portfolio firms, in the key areas such as strategy, marketing, product management and recruiting.
Given that many of their portfolio firms are early-stage high growth ventures in consumer Internet and enterprise technology, the addition of Gowdey to the team is a strategic acquisition of talent.
He bring extensive professional experience in investing and working with Internet companies, with experience in curating and evaluating deals across mature and emerging markets.
Earlier, Gowdey was with TPG Growth, which served as an investment platform for early-stage and growth investments of TPG, a private equity firm. He has also served a long stint with <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://business.yahoo.com/" target="_blank">Yahoo!</a>, where he was the head of International M&amp;A.
He was previously a managing partner with <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.xplorercapital.com" target="_blank">Xplorer Capital</a>, a growth equity venture capital fund focused on internet ventures in emerging markets.
“Over the last few years, startups in the region have had unprecedented access to early-stage or seed funding, which has resulted in an explosion of new companies and innovation in the region. I believe there is currently a tremendous opportunity to build a world-class venture capital platform and create something quite unique in the Asia Pacific region,” said Gowdey.
