DBS has got Iain Taylor (from <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.asb.co.nz/" target="_blank">ASB Bank</a>) to be its global transaction services (GTS) chief operating officer, while Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc (RBS)has hired <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.ubs.com/" target="_blank">UBS</a>&#8216;s currency research head Mansoor Mohi-uddin.
<h3>DBS hires vetran  banker Iain Taylor</h3>
South East Asia’s largest lender, DBS Bank Monday said it had hired veteran banker Iain Taylor as its global transaction services (GTS) chief operating officer. Taylor, who is slated to join on December 15, will play a strategic role in leading the business to execute its growth plans, DBS said in a statement.
Taylor is currently the head of transaction banking at New Zealand-based ASB Bank, responsible for building and leading a team of professionals covering payables, receivables, cards, liquidity and connectivity. Under his leadership, the business has doubled over the past three years, DBS’s statement added.
Prior to that, he spent 18 years at HSBC where he led the payments and cash management businesses in key Asian growth markets such as Singapore, Indonesia and South Korea, as well as held management roles in market development and marketing for transaction banking in the Asia Pacific.
John Laurens, head of global transaction services, DBS, said: &#8220;Growing the GTS franchise is one of the bank&#8217;s strategic priorities and the business has grown from strength to strength the past few years. We are very pleased to have Iain on board as we continue on our journey of making transaction banking a key growth driver of the bank.&#8221;
<h3>RBS hires former UBS currency research head Mohi-uddin</h3>
Mansoor Mohi-uddin, UBS Group AG’s former global head of foreign-exchange strategy, has joined Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, Bloomberg <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.theedgemarkets.com/sg/article/rbs-hires-former-ubs-currency-research-head-mohi-uddin-singapore" target="_blank">said in a report</a>.
The report also quoted Mohi-uddin, who is based in Singapore, and covers major and emerging-markets currencies, as saying that his tenure as RBS’s senior markets strategist in Asia, begins today.
It further <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.theedgemarkets.com/sg/article/rbs-hires-former-ubs-currency-research-head-mohi-uddin-singapore" target="_blank">added</a> that Mohi-uddin had studied under former Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee member Charles Goodhart at the London School of Economics, and had moved to Singapore from Zurich in 2010.
