Home healthcare services provider <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=life+circle">Life Circle Health Services Pvt. Ltd</a> has raised $150,000 from European health company Groupe SOS.
The start-up plans to use the money to expand operations. It wants to be in 20 cities by 2020. Life Circle offers nursing and professional care services at home.
“We differentiate our services by providing trained and verified caregivers, creating a seamless continuum of care, providing work-related training and psychological counselling to caregivers to manage burnouts, and providing flexible caregiver engagement to seniors,” said Anant Kumar, founder and CEO of Life Circle.
Along with the investment, the European partner will also share technical know-how and global best practices in the home care services space.
“India’s urban population has around 36% seniors who are immobile and the number reaches 60% by the time they turn 70,” said Srinivas Kollipara, founder and COO, T-Hub, a Hyderabad-based incubator for start-ups in Telangana.
Groupe SOS, which has been providing similar services in France for over 30 years, will share its knowledge on managing teams dedicated to home nursing and training courses for caregivers with Life Circle.
“We are very excited about joining an Indian enterprise to develop home nursing services in India. Groupe SOS has over 30 years of experience in France where elder care health services are among the best in the world,” said Jean-Marc Borello, founder and president, Groupe SOS.
Home healthcare in India is mainly focused on services concerning elder care, post-operative patients, chronic disease management, and primary care.
In the last seven years, the consumer healthcare sector in India has raised around $338 million, according to start-up research firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=traxcn">Tracxn</a> Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
