<a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Startupbootcamp+FinTech" target="_blank">Startupbootcamp FinTech</a> Singapore, an accelerator focusing on finical innovation, said its Demo Day, which showcased its top-ten FinTech teams, had been a success as the event attracted over 600 guests from across the financial sector.
The top ten startups were handpicked from over the initial 380 applications from a wide array of FinTech areas including insurtech, wealth management and personal finance management, and the 2016 cohort of startups have secured a total of 11 pilots and key partners, with an additional eight in the works, the accelerator added.
<a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/33942-33942/" target="_blank">Connaizen</a>, an Indian startup that crunches transaction data to provide personalised card-linked offers have partnered with<a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=+ICIC+bank"> ICIC bank</a> and<a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=+RuPay"> RuPay</a> in India to run pilot programmes for their 295 million card holders.
The partnerships come alongside Startupbootcamp FinTech Singapore growing its corporate partners from 9 to 12.
Steven Tong, Md of Startupbootcamp FinTech Singapore said, &#8220;2016 saw a diverse cohort of FinTech startups hailing from 7 different countries across APAC. This reflects the increasingly maturing FinTech ecosystems across the region.&#8221;
The ten selected startups went through an intense three-month accelerator program with extensive mentorship opportunities from over 400 entrepreneurs, investors and corporate partners. &#8220;From entering the program, the teams have made impressive developments, transforming their products, building partnerships and getting terms sheets on the table. We are excited to see where these FinTech entrepreneurs will be six months from now,&#8221; Tong added.
Anthony Eldridge, FinTech and Financial Services Leader, PwC Singapore said, &#8220;What we see within the financial services ecosystem is the coming together of traditional players and startups who share a common focus on the end-customer. FinTech startups play a crucial role in identifying service gaps and inefficiencies and coming up with innovative solutions to make the customer&#8217;s life better.&#8221;
&#8220;The onus is on traditional players to harness the brainpower of these startups and collaborate to bring innovative solutions to market faster and rewrite the finical services rulebook together. Startupbootcamp offers a great platform to help facilitate this coming together of expertise and resources,&#8221; Eldridge added,
A <a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=PwC+">PwC </a>report released earlier this year showed that 75 per cent of surveyed industry respondents felt the most important challenge for FinTech would be meeting the demand from customers who want an exceptional user experience from their financial services providers.
Startupbootcamp Fintech was launched in 2014 and is based in London, New York and Singapore.
