<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.wadi.com/" target="_blank">Wadi.com,</a> an online shopping store in Middle East, has raised $67 million in Series A round of funding led by <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.altayyargroup.com/ar/" target="_blank">Al Tayyar Group</a>, the company said.
The company claimed that this is the largest Series A funding in the tech industry history of the Middle East. Wadi.com managed to get the funding just after 10 months of its launch.
Wadi.com was founded in 2015 by the <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.meig.com/" target="_blank">Middle East Internet Group</a> (MEIG) as a joint venture between German firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Rocket+Internet" target="_blank">Rocket Internet</a> and MTN, a South African telecommunications provider.
“The funding will enable us to grow further within the region and deliver exceptional service to our customers. We are proud of having raised the largest funding in the tech history of the Middle-East,&#8221; said Pratik Gupta, co-founder and MD, Wadi.com.
The company offers more than 150,000 products from over 2,000 international brands including Apple, Samsung, Lacoste and Hugo Boss. Currently available in UAE and Saudi Arabia, it is planning to expand into other countries.

MEIG was started in 2013 as a joint venture of Rocket Internet and MTN. Its network currently consists of Wadi.com, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.helpling.com/" target="_blank">Helpling.com</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://vaniday.com/" target="_blank">Vaniday.com</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.easytaxi.com/" target="_blank">Easytaxi</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.lamudi.com/" target="_blank">Lamudi.com</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://carmudi.com/" target="_blank">Carmudi.com</a>.
Al Tayyar Travel Group, a Saudi joint-stock company, has invested in various online ventures in the MENA region.
