Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB), a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, has added representatives from tech majors Grab and Sea to its board.
Its board has added Forrest Li, chairman and group CEO of NYSE-listed regional e-commerce giant Sea Ltd, and Tan Hooi Ling, the co-founder of Grab, according to a release issued by the ministry on Friday.
In addition, Liew Wei Li, the deputy director-general of Education (Schools) and the director of schools for the Ministry of Education, was added to the board, the statement said.
The three new members join representatives from IBM Asia Pacific, SATS, Keppel Corp., Singapore Exchange, INSEAD, General Electric, and Procter &amp; Gamble on EDB&#8217;s board.
EDB serves to promote Singapore as a global centre for business, innovation, and talent. It works with businesses by providing information, connection to partners and access to government incentives for their investments and their transformation and growth initiatives.
It also makes investments in globally competitive businesses through EDBI, its dedicated corporate investment arm.
