Private equity major EQT has agreed to sell Quantios, a software provider to the global trust and corporate services industry, to Vista Equity Partners for an undisclosed sum, according to an announcement.
The deal marks the firm’s latest exit from its Asia mid-market strategy and follows its 2023 investment in Malaysia-based Viewpoint, a provider of software for trust and corporate services firms.
During EQT’s ownership, ViewPoint was combined with TrustQuay, which was backed by technology investor Hg. The combined company was subsequently rebranded as Quantios.
The combined business now serves nearly 700 organizations across more than 100 jurisdictions, per the announcement.
“The successful exit of Quantios is an important milestone for our Asia mid-market strategy,” Nicholas Macksey, co-head of EQT Private Capital Asia and head of its Asia mid-market strategy, said in a statement.
Macksey said the transaction demonstrated EQT’s ability to generate value through active ownership despite a more selective market for software buyouts this year.
Jacob Van der Wiel, managing director in EQT Private Capital Asia’s mid-market team, said the firm had identified an opportunity to back an ambitious founder and build a global software platform when it invested in ViewPoint three years ago.
Since then, the company has expanded internationally while strengthening its cloud and AI offerings, he said.
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
The sale represents another exit for EQT’s Asia Mid-Market Opportunities Fund I, also known as the BPEA EQT Mid-Market Growth Partnership.
The fund is EQT’s first dedicated Asia mid-market buyout fund. It closed in May 2024 with $1.6 billion in commitments, more than double its initial $750 million target.
The fund typically invests $50 million to $300 million per transaction in founder-led and mid-sized companies across India, Southeast Asia, Japan, and Australia, with a focus on technology, business services, healthcare, and tech-enabled sectors.
EQT, one of Asia’s most active private equity investors, allocated roughly 20% of its 16 billion euros of 2025 investments to the region, according to its earnings presentation.
The firm is reportedly preparing to kick off a new round of fundraising for its next Asia mid-market fund.
Some of EQT’s Southeast Asia portfolio, including from the BPEA business, are Indonesian natural ingredients provider Indesso; Singapore-based healthcare platform MHC Asia and video game development firm Virtuos; integrated retail platform The CrownX, and education companies VUS and ILA in Vietnam.
