Hong Kong-listed real estate giant ESR is ploughing ahead with a $1-billion investment to expand its presence in Thailand over the next five years, betting on a favourable market environment for logistics real estate in Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy.
“We like that Thailand has a strong manufacturing base of multinational companies from Europe, North America, and Japan. The regulatory environment has just eased up a bit and become more foreign investor-friendly,” ESR Group co-founder and co-CEO Stuart Gibson told DealStreetAsia in an interview.
