<a href="http://www.matchinggroup.com/" target="_blank">Matching Maximize Solution Plc</a> (MATCH), a Thailand-based, SET-listed major media production house, plans to spend around 100 million baht ($3.06 million) to acquire local production house in a bid to bolster its business.
Chief executive officer Poomchai Wacharapong said that they would like to acquire a company which, is an expert in post-production or techniques such as light and sound. The acquisition should be a shortcut to make the company one-stop service production house for local and foreign producers.

“We are negotiating with a few operators at the moment. If possible, we would like to hold 75 per cent in each firm. However, we expect to finalise the deal, worth around 100 million baht, soon,” he said.
MATCH&#8217;s businesses range from production of TV programmes and commercials and equipment rental to event organising and printing. It&#8217;s main businesses is that of renting equipment for film shooting and TV programme production, has continued to grow.
At the same time, MATCH is building six new studios on 216 rais of land in Samut Prakarn province to attract international film maker. This 700-million-baht ($21.43 million) studios is scheduled to complete in the first quarter next year.
Poomchai cited that the one-stop service studios will probably generate the revenue of 40-50 million baht a year, which is not much but it will help improve the profit margin and reduce the risk of uncertain revenue.
Once the studio is completed, 60 per cent of the company’s revenue will come from studio and equipment rental, which has more stable income than TV production and events. The revenue from the latter two will account for 20 per cent each.

If the new studios receive good response from local and international film makers, the company plans to invest in setting up more, in the second phase. The source of fund may come from the real estate investment trust, in order to minimise the impact on shareholders.
In 2015, it expects to raise the revenue by 20-30 per cent from last year; in line with the growth of media industry. However, he accepted that the economic slowdown is his main concern this year.
Although the revenue in 2014 did not hit the target due to political chaos, it remains higher than 690 million baht ($21.12 million) in 2013. The company recorded a revenue of 690 million baht and net profit of 9.13 million baht for the first nine months, last year.
