There are approximately 70 million SMEs in Indonesia across sectors of which only 15 million conduct their business through online channels.
Facebook Small and Medium Business (SMB) Lead &#8211; Indonesia Waizly Darwin said, at the Facebook Marketing Boot Camp on Tuesday in Jakarta, online channels is one of the main things to increase the scale of business as market access, establishment of ecosystem, and communication can be done more easily via the internet
&#8220;Therefore, we want to educate SMEs in Indonesia to develop their business with an efficient expenditure through Pages,&#8221; said Head of SME of Facebook for Asia Pacific Andy Hwang.
According to user data, there are 90 million Internet users in the country of which 76 million are present on Facebook. And, 61 per cent of Facebook users are connected to a business page.
Waizly said, the new features would help local SMEs “scale up and connect with customers.”
In terms of expenditure, Pages claims to be relatively inexpensive. Utilization of these services can be started without tariffs. To take advantage of features that are more diverse, a minimum price is pegged at $5, or around Rp 72,000.
New features such as &#8220;Pages Message&#8221;, &#8220;Call-to-action&#8221; and &#8220;Shop and Services&#8221; are targeted at personalized communications between customers and sellers, enabling customers to obtain required information about an SME, as well as to facilitate the customer&#8217;s purchase path.
The revamped business pages are designed to be more mobile-friendly and include new features such as more eye-catching “call-to-action” buttons, to encourage users to purchase products or browse catalogs. Businesses can also contact customers directly in a private message, the statement said.
