Four local companies are planning to bid for the $88.9m (P4 billion) Integrated Transport System-South Terminal (ITS-South) of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) in the Philippines.
The companies Ayala Land Inc, Datem Inc., Filinvest, and MVM Terminals submitted their pre-qualification documents for evaluation by DOTC&#8217;s Project Bids and Awards Committee.
MVM company is a joint venture of Megawide Construction Corporation and WM Property Management Inc.
DOTC said ITS-South is set to be implemented through a Build-Transfer-Operate (BTO) arrangement and will be located within a 4.7-hectare space near the Food Terminal complex in Taguig City. The private concessionaire,  upon building the ITS-South terminal, will transfer this to the DOTC. The winning private concessionaire will likewise cover for the terminal&#8217;s operation and maintenance using performance standards and specifications under the PPP concession agreement for a period of 35 years.
The four companies will be notified of the evaluation results of their PQ documents by December 22, 2014 as indicated in DOTC&#8217;s project timeline for the ITS-South terminal.
By December 29, 2014, the Pre-Qualification Bids and Awards Committee or PBAC will issue the instruction to bidders, including the draft concession agreement and the draft schedules of the concession.
ITS-South is the second transport terminal project to be undertaken by the DOTC under a public-private partnership arrangement. The first was the Integrated Transport System –Southwest which is awaiting the bid submissions of prospective bidders due on December 1 this year.
