Global growth equity investor <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/india-general-atlantic-karvy-sheroes-women-restart-79593/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">General Atlantic </a>has announced a series of promotions for the year including in Asia where Wai Hoong Fock, the Southeast Asia lead has been promoted as a Managing Director.
Announcing the promotions on Tuesday, the firm added that Paul Stamas, a senior member of the Financial Services sector team has also been named as a Managing Director while Pierre Samec who is a member of the Resources Group has been made the Operating Partner.
The firm has also promoted Luis Cervantes, Christian Figge, David George, Anna Golynskaya, Shaw Joseph, and Melis Kahya to Principal. All promotions will be effective as of January 1, 2018.
“Today’s announcement is a reflection of General Atlantic’s strong commitment to attracting, developing, and promoting talented professionals globally,” said Bill Ford, Chief Executive Officer of General Atlantic.
Singapore-based Wai Hoong Fock joined General Atlantic in 2015 and leads the firm’s business in Southeast Asia. He led the firm’s 2016 investment in PT MAP Boga Adiperkasa and serves on the company’s board of directors. Prior to joining General Atlantic, he was a Managing Director at CVC Capital Partners, where he was responsible for the firm’s business in Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam and was involved in transaction execution and portfolio monitoring across Southeast Asia.
Meanhwile, Paul Stamas has been with the firm since 2010 and co-led the firm’s investments in Align Networks, Insurity, MedExpress, OptionsHouse, and Santander Asset Management. Before General Atlantic, Stamas was an Associate at Welsh, Carson, Anderson &amp; Stowe, where he focused on investments in the healthcare services and information and business services sectors.
Another executive who was promoted, Pierre Samec, joined General Atlantic in 2014 and is a member of the firm’s Resources Group, where he focuses on providing digital transformation expertise to a number of the firm’s portfolio companies and assisting with new investments in the EMEA region.
Among other global promotions as Principals, Luis Cervantes who joined the firm in 2013 leads its Mexico City office, Christian Figge is based in the firm’s Munich office, David George is based in the firm’s Palo Alto office where he focuses on investments in the Internet &amp; Technology sector and Anna Golynskaya is based in the New York office where she focuses on the firm’s capital partnering efforts.
Further, Shaw Joseph based in the firm’s New York office focuses on investments in the Retail &amp; Consumer sector and Melis Kahya based in London office serves as Head of Retail &amp; Consumer for EMEA, in addition to having regional coverage of Turkey.
General Atlantic, a firm with $21 billion in assets under management as of June 30 focuses on investments across five sectors, including Internet &amp; Technology, Financial Services, Business Services, Retail &amp; Consumer, and Healthcare and has more than 110 investment professionals based in New York, Amsterdam, Beijing, Greenwich, Hong Kong, London, Mexico City, Mumbai, Munich, Palo Alto, São Paulo, Shanghai, and Singapore.
