GOJEK’s Vietnam affiliate GO-VIET on Monday named former Facebook Vietnam country director Christy Le as its general manager.

The announcement comes after GO-VIET CEO Duc Nguyen stepped down from his position last month to take on an advisory role.

“Christy’s experience as a highly successful entrepreneur makes her the ideal person to take GO-VIET forward as we look to sustain the phenomenal growth the company has had so far,” said Andrew Lee, head of international expansion at GOJEK.

She had earlier founded and was the chief operations officer and chief financial officer of Silicon Valley wearables startup Misfit. The startup was later acquired by Fossil Group in 2015, with Le joining the group as its vice president of operations and managing director for Fossil Vietnam.

GOJEK entered Vietnam, its first market outside Indonesia, in August 2018. It offers bike-hailing, delivery and food services in the country, with plans to launch car-hailing soon.
