Ride-hailing giant Grab has appointed Yee Wee Tang to head its Singapore office to oversee its business strategy and operations.
According to a statement, Yee, who succeeded Lim Kell Jay, assumed his new role on April 1 2019. Jay has moved to undertake two roles &#8211; as the co-chief of staff in the CEO office and GrabFood Singapore head, respectively.
Yee, an old hand at Grab, has been there with the company for the past four years.  He was earlier the country head for the Philippines, Thailand and Cambodia. Prior to joining Grab, Yee undertook consulting roles in BP and Boston Consulting Group.
The Southeast Asian ride-hailing decacorn, in its statement, added that Yee brings with him a track record of strong partnerships and has a keen understanding of local conditions that will go on to address users&#8217; needs.
Grab added that Jay, on the other hand, will focus on accelerating growth of GrabFood to become the top food delivery service in Singapore by 1H 2019. Orders coming on GrabFood in Singapore has been reportedly recording an average growth of 25 per cent per month.
