Southeast Asian ride-hailing giant Grab is scouting for potential partnerships with Indonesian banks, following rivals such as Gojek and Sea Ltd., who have upped their financial services play by acquiring stakes in local lenders.
While DealStreetAsia has learnt that Grab has been approached by, and plans to partner with, several banks, the most likely candidates to clinch an investment are the Jakarta-based Bank Fama, and Bank BRI Agro Tbk — an arm of Bank BRI.
