India Digest: Greaves buys Ampere; Google, Xiaomi eye train app; Amazon eyes Spencer's; CAIT moves NCLAT

Greaves Cotton has entered agreement to acquire a majority 67% stake in Ratan Tata and Kris Gopalakrishnan-backed electric bike company Ampere Vehicles for Rs 77 crore while Google and Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi are evaluating investment in Where Is My Train. E-commerce giant Amazon is in early talks to pick up a minority stake in food and grocery retail chain Spencer’s Retail, and CAIT has filed a petition with the NCLAT opposing the Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) decision to approve Walmart-Flipkart deal.
