<h3>Nazara leads funding in HalaPlay</h3>
<p>Online fantasy gaming platform HalaPlay has raised $5.8 million (Rs 40 crore) in a Series A funding round led by Nazara Technologies and Delta Corp.</p>
<p>Nazara was an investor in the company&#8217;s previous rounds as well. Halaplay will invest the fresh capital in marketing and product development initiatives and team expansion, The Economic Times <strong><a href="https://tech.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/mobile/nazara-delta-corp-invest-rs-40-crore-in-fantasy-sports-startup-halaplay/68467603">reported</a></strong>. The Mumbai-based gaming startup has raised an estimated Rs 7-8 crore since its inception.</p>
<h3>Nexus, CDH put $3.2m in Mayfair</h3>
<p>Lifestyle brand Mayfair has raised $3.2 million in seed funding from Nexus Venture Partners and CDH Investments, it said on Tuesday.</p>
<p>Gurugram-based Mayfair, which offers affordable fashion including clothing, accessories and home and living products, will use the funds to ramp up procurement and operations and expand its team. Mayfair was founded by Chi Xue (former data science head at ClubFactory, ex-Google) and Eddie Deng (former Alibaba director) in October 2018.</p>
<h3>Scale Ventures backs Yearbook Canvas</h3>
<p>Yearbook Canvas, an early-stage startup providing a self-publishing platform for college and university students, has raised Rs 2 crore in a round led by Scale Ventures at a valuation of Rs 7.5 crore, it announced on Tuesday.</p>
<p>Other investors who participated in the round include Ankur Mishra, Dr Vikas Balia, Hemant Bothra, and Manish Khatri. Yearbook Canvas claims that it already has 100+ tier-I and A+ institutes as paying clients including IIMs, IITs, ISB, XLRI, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, BITS, INSEAD and Lancaster University.</p>
<h3>FrontdeskAI gets $2m more in seed funding</h3>
<p>FrontdeskAI, a developer of artificial intelligence (AI) assistants for small businesses, has secured an additional $2 million in funding, bringing its total seed financing to $4.2 million.</p>
<p>This pre-Series A round of funding was led by early-stage tech-focused fund pi Ventures. The funds will help FrontdeskAI accelerate product development, increase customer acquisition and investigate new vertical markets.</p>
<p>As part of the deal, pi Ventures partner Abishek Surendran will join the FrontdeskAI board.</p>
