<p>IT services major <strong><a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/hcl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HCL Technologies Ltd</a></strong> is acquiring C3i Solutions, a multi-channel customer engagement services for the life sciences and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries, from <strong><a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/merck" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Merck &amp; Co, Inc</a></strong>.</p>
<p>HCL Technologies, through its step down wholly-owned subsidiary HCL America Inc, will acquire 100% stake in C3i Solutions for a cash consideration of $60 million.</p>
<p>&#8220;With this acquisition, the company would be able to enhance its lifesciences and CPG services offerings with the solutions of a company that is also committed to driving innovation and adding customer value over time,&#8221; HCL said in a statement.</p>
<p>It further said that C3i&#8217;s clinical, sales support, and pharmacovigilance expertise, along with its roster of life sciences clients that include 30 of top pharmaceutical companies, would help to grow HCL&#8217;s life sciences vertical.</p>
<p>The transaction is scheduled to be completed this month.</p>
<p>C3i has over 3,700 employees located in the US, India, Bulgaria, China, UK, and Japan. For the financial year ended December 31, 2017 the company&#8217;s revenue was $199 million, HCL said.</p>
<p>HCL Technologies has also been actively expanding and strengthening its services through the inorganic route. In September last year, the Noida-based technology firm had acquired Edinburg-based data management firm <strong><a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/datawave" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Datawave</a></strong> for up to £7 million ($9.1 million) in cash.</p>
<p>Prior to that in April 2017, HCL announced the acquisition of US-based business process outsourcing firm <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/urban-fulfilment" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Urban Fulfilment Service LLC</strong> </a>in a $30 million all cash deal.</p>
