Contract research organisation ObvioHealth Inc has announced a $3 million series A financing round led by TKS I, a Singapore-based venture fund focused on lifesciences and healthcare.
ObvioHealth Inc CEO Bryan Silverman said, in an official statement, the investment by TKS I will help “expand the company’s operational team and support current growth needs.”
Based in Orlando and Singapore, ObvioHealth offers both hybrid and 100% “site-less” clinical trial using ClaimIt, its proprietary, mobile clinical trial software platform.
The software supports observational and interventional studies, allowing integration with smart phones, connected devices, and real-time interactions with subjects. It has helped recruit subjects faster and in remote regions without the geographic constraints imposed by traditional “brick &amp; mortar” studies.
ObvioHealth is advised by SPRIM, a global innovation firm focused on healthcare.
TKS I is a joint venture between SPRIM’s venture capital arm is <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/SPRIM-ventures">SPRIM Ventures</a> and European asset management and investment Group <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/Tikehau-capital/">Tikehau Capital</a>. The two companies announced a $50 million first close of the TKS I fund earlier this month.
The joint venture, the two companies said, will focus on early-stage investments in med-tech and lifescience companies, investing between $500,000 and $5 million in selected startups.
TKS1, which is administered out of Singapore, has previously seeded five companies, including ObvioHealth, Fibronostics and Travecta Therapeutics.
