Horangi, a Singapore-based cybersecurity startup, has raised a $20 million Series B round led by Southeast Asian private equity firm Provident Growth.
The round was joined by return backers Monk&#8217;s Hill Ventures, Right Click Capital, and Genesis Alternative Ventures, a Southeast Asian venture debt fund.
The Singaporean startup last raised $3.1 million in a <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/singapore-monks-hill-leads-3-1m-series-startup-horangi-cybersecurity-85764/">Series A round in November 2017 led by Monk&#8217;s Hill Ventures</a>. That financing was backed by 500 Startups, Pandoros, Hub Ventures Fund, Right Click Capital, 6Degrees Ventures and others.
According to a statement, Horangi will use the fresh funding to expand its operations across Southeast Asia. It is looking to double its headcount to 160 regionally, especially in Singapore and Indonesia where it is experiencing high demand for its services.
“Southeast Asia is one of the fastest-growing economies and digitising rapidly, but due to the shortage of security expertise in the region, organisations are increasingly turning to security experts like Horangi. This is especially prevalent in Indonesia, where we have been focused on since 2016. Having a strong team, local insights and technology capabilities allow us to partner with strategic investors to help propel our next growth stage,” said Horangi CEO and co-founder Paul Hadjy.
Founded in 2016 by former Palantir cybersecurity experts Hadjy and Lee Sult, Horangi caters to around 200 customers, including Gojek, Ninja Van, ShopBack, Tiket and PropertyGuru.
The firm also plans to invest proceeds of its latest financing round in its cloud security product, Warden, which protects organisations using public cloud infrastructure from security threats and compliance violations.

Provident Growth&#8217;s portfolio companies include Gojek, Traveloka, Pomelo and JD Central.
