Ideabox said it will sponsor The GO Project (GO) in Myanmar, a global start-up lab programme focused on educating people on innovation to become more entrepreneurial.
GO is a global learning lab developed by nine aspiring entrepreneurs, designers and consultants from the USA, Mexico, and Finland. Since February, GO’s founding cohort has been co-living, co-learning, and co-working in regional innovation hubs in South America, MENA and Southeast Asia.
Go says its mission is to drive impact locally and globally by partnering with local organisations, startups and key ecosystem players across public and private sectors.
In Myanmar, Ideabox’ partnership with GO involves consultation on several projects across agriculture, women’s health, emerging digital payments, e-commerce, and entrepreneurship incubation spaces.
All projects will follow processes branching from the technopreneurship model to scale ideas, launch startups, train entrepreneurs, and enhance collaboration within and across regional ecosystems.
GO will assist the launch of the iHub space, a joint venture by Internews and Ideabox, a community of entrepreneurs.
Ross Cormack, CEO, Ooredoo Myanmar, said: “There is a wealth of young talent in Myanmar that is eager to deploy mobile technology to develop new businesses and kick-start social development.  Projects such as GO empower this ambitious generation to fulfil their ambitions; equipping them with the knowledge and skill-sets they need to get started.”
GO most recently assisted Ooredoo and Ideabox in delivering Myanmar’s inaugural Connected Women Conference in Yangon.
Cecily Mauran from The GO Project said: “Myanmar’s digital space is developing at a staggering rate and we are thrilled to be working with Ooredoo and Ideabox during this exciting and historical time.”
Previously, GO worked with Startup bootcamp Istanbul where they served as a full-service and in-house mentor team. They developed strategies, workshops and consulting in branding, growth hacking, UX, sponsorships and partnerships for startups.
Similar to the plan for Yangon, they conducted ecosystem site visits, events and interviews to help ramp up energy and cross-collaboration among key players.
Prior to that, in Santiago, Chile, GO consulted for the country’s first rewards-based crowdfunding platform in collaboration with ProChile. GO also worked with the executive team at Mujeres del Pacifico’s to develop and launch their innovation training curriculum called Lab I+M to empower SME entrepreneurs and corporate executives in the Pacific Alliance.
