<article><a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=ifc" target="_blank">International Finance Corporation</a> (IFC) &#8211; the private lending arm of World Bank &#8211; is now considering to invest up to $100 million in Beijing-headquartered <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Union+Life+Insurance+Co+Ltd" target="_blank">Union Life Insurance Co Ltd</a>.</article>

<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=ifc" target="_blank">International Finance Corporation</a> (IFC) &#8211; the private lending arm of World Bank &#8211; is now considering to invest up to $100 million in Beijing-headquartered <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Union+Life+Insurance+Co+Ltd" target="_blank">Union Life Insurance Co Ltd</a>.
Established in 2005 by a group of domestic private enterprises, Union Life, China operates 28 branches in 26 provinces. The company has more than 750 sales offices, and 78,000 agents, and claims to serving nearly 4 million long- term individual customers.
Zhongfa Group is the only majority shareholder in Union Life with 46 per cent holding while other shareholders in the company include Simaite Investment Co Ltd &#8211; 18.48 per cent, Hubei Chuhan Trade Co Ltd &#8211; 13.86 per cent, Hubei Defan Investment Co Ltd &#8211; 13.86 per cent, Beijing Tianxinjie &#8211; 4.43 per cent and Taiyo Life &#8211; 3.31 per cent.
&#8220;IFC&#8217;s potential investment in Union Life will demonstrate IFC&#8217;s confidence in both China&#8217;s life insurance sector and the company. It is also expected to introduce sound overseas investment opportunities to the company to help it diversify investment portfolio,&#8221; it said in the disclosure.
On April 13, 2017, IFC announced to provide up to $40 million convertible loan to US-based company Farasis Energy Inc for its Chinese project.
Last month, IFC invested $25 million in Minsheng Education Group Company Ltd, Hong Kong besides a commitment of providing an additional $4 million.
