<h3>FreeCharge gets $3.4m from parent Jasper Infotech</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/jasper-infotech" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Jasper Infotech</a> has made a capital infusion of Rs 22 crore ($3.4 million) in its digital payments platform deal <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/freecharge" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">FreeCharge</a>, according to <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/money/jasper-infotech-puts-rs-22-crore-more-into-freecharge-wallet/articleshow/58727439.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a report</a> in The Economic Times quoting documents filed with the Registrar of Companies (ROC).
This marks Jasper&#8217;s third such investment in FreeCharge, which is also reportedly up for sale, over the past five months.
As per the report, FreeCharge Payment Technologies, at its board meeting held on April 28, allotted 2.2 crore equity shares at a price of Rs 10 per share to Jasper Infotech, which is also the parent company of beleaguered e-commerce firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/snapdeal" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdeal</a>.
In January, it pumped in close to Rs 390 crore into the Bengaluru-based company, followed by a second top-up of Rs 30 crore in March.
<h3>The Good Life Company raises $1m seed funding</h3>
Online luxury tea brand The Good Life Company has raised $1 million in seed funding from actress Ayesha Takia Azmi and her husband Abu Farhan Azmi.
Launched in 2016 by former Boston Consulting Group executives Bhuman Dani and Shariq Ashraf, the startup claims to offer over 300 varieties of in-house tea blends.
The startup plans to utilise this latest funding to strengthen its operations in Mumbai and to expand its services in Tier-I cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. It further plans to foray into international markets as well, including the US, UK, Singapore, and the Middle East.
<h3>Online water pump retailer PumpKart raises seed funding</h3>
Online water pump retailer PumpKart has closed a seed round of funding from Ritesh Malik, founder of Innov8 and Project Guerrilla, according to <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://inc42.com/buzz/exclusive-pumpkart-funding/">a report</a> in Inc42.
Prior to the seed funding, Chandigarh-based PumpKart was bootstrapped by founder KS Bhatia, with some funds coming in from his existing company Air Fluid Engineers and Equipments.
Launched as a B2C platform to sell pumps online in 2014, PumpKart pivoted to a B2B model in 2016, where it now partners with retailers and sources products directly from manufacturers.
